D23 is the fan club for all things Disney and this year a huge expo came to Anaheim. This Expo was the perfect chance for Disney to show everything that they have scheduled over the next 2-3 years from huge films to the newest rides and attractions. Needless to say that this expo brought some things forward that many people have only speculated and rumoured.
Obviously a big draw is the companies such as Lucasfilm, Marvel and Pixar whom are all associated to Disney. Their influence meant that films such as Star Wars: The Last Jedi, The Incredibles 2 and Avengers Infinity war, could get some publicity before another big event; San Diego Comic Con.
Marvel used this to show off some of their latest footage from the new Infinity War (sadly no trailer has been released to the public), with a huge amount of the cast their as well to advertise and add to the tease. However Josh Brolin (Goonies, No Country For Old Men & Men in Black 3) took centre stage to show off probably some of the more imposing characters from Inifinity War, Thanos' Children. These highly detailed statues, hid in plain sight, weren't shown until a huge unveiling where Brolin then signed limited edition posters only available at the event.
Pixar came forward to confirm and show some of their new titles including Toy Story 4, Coco, the Incredibles 2 and an untitled suburban fantasy film. By Far the most supported was that of Wreck it Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet. In the press conference the voice actresses of Disney Princesses, joined on stage by Sarah Silverman the of voice of Princess Vanellope, announced that they will all be playing a part in the new film as their original Disney Princess'.
Star Wars definately brought a great insight into what to expect from the newest addition, with a huge behind the scenes video including commentary from the actors and workers on the film.
Not only did we see developments in the film we also got a grand look into the new Star Wars Land being built in California and Florida. This highly detailed model revealed how the land would cover around 14 acres and offer a wide range of attractions including the change to captain the Millenium Falcon on a secret mission.
This event definately brought a lot forward for fans and was a great build up for San Diego Comic Con!
